You know if they don't kinda imply it every next minute whenever they get a chance, it's actually pretty easy to assume that it was Chinatsu who confessed to Taiki a couple of episodes back lol, not Hina. I mean Taiki being truthful and pretty clear with his thoughts and feelings for Hina aside, it's actually him and Chinatsu who have gotten much.. and much closer after the confession.

The stuff with Chinatsu living away for a month with her mother is just going to work even more with those self realisations kicking in, I mean we can see. Sheesh, Hina is in for a ride lol. Though hey, the pinnacle of every japanese school kid’s life.. the event of a lifetime, which they experience more than once… the cultural festival is around the corner, and Hina’s going to play Snow White. So yeah, things might happen.

Also I don't know but Chinatsu was already regretting as is, and then Hina told her about the confession, which will make her regret even more, not that she'd show, but yeah, BEST timing lol.

Yeah I do agree that self-realization gonna kick in and work, after she steps down from this situation for a little bit time.

Of course Hina is the one who scores the top role in a school festival play xD.

Already nicely composed above, but this really is the best situation right now for Chinatsu ... all these factors, literally the whole universe telling her what is the direction she should take ... And oh boy how she really misses him too, lol.

This is the time for her to decide and take action.

Hina we will find you your happiness I promise. Things are really about to come to a boil here. No way things can stay as they are for much longer now that Chinatsu knows how she feels about Taiki, he knows how he feels about her and Hina’s confessed.

Again feel so bad for her because all her thoughts are about Taiki and all his are about Chinatsu. BUT it looks like my theory that Kyo and Hina will be rebounds for one another will end up true lol. They’ve been teasing this for a while now with Kyo giving her advice and looking out for her, he might not know he has a crush right now but there’s something there. They both can relate to each other having been de facto rejected by their crushes. Classic romance anime trope lol.

Uh oh that ending! Chinatsu watching that J drama got her feeling a little guilty about how she’s been hanging with Taiki so I wonder what she’ll say to Hina telling her she confessed.. can’t wait for next ep

Japan is 1 episode ahead. They stopped releasing official English subs in Japan a couple episodes ago. There’s a fansub out there but it’s garbage. They get the names wrong constantly and the subject of what they’re saying seems deliberately opposite of what it’s supposed to be. Just wait a week.

HINA CHONO HAS MADE HER FIRST MOVE!

One of my favorite Blue box arcs, The School festival arc. This is where the story gets more linear and more focused. And I think were going to end the season on that part of the story.
At the end of the day, we all love watching trash.

High School DxD Hero Episode 8.

@Hylianticipated blame yourself for not being able to search for good subs and using shitty google translated streaming garbage.
Good subs exist. Even 2 of them. One is releasing a few hours after episode premiere (AI-kun), the other one with fine typesetting is releasing one or 2 days after episode premiere (KawaSubs). Netflix subs are way worse then both of these subs.

A change of pace of an episode with the cultural festival looming closer, was a bit slow but there were shifts in dynamics a little bit with Chinatsu moving out for a month to live with her mother and being distanced a bit from Taiki as a result at times, and her conflicting feelings knowing that Hina and Taiki were a good fit together as an observer, and hell, even with the ending of knowing that Hina confessed to him. Things did happen but it was an episode that felt a little too slow for me at times. Did look a bit better though visually, although the primary focus was away from the badminton and basketball for this one.

Hina playing the role of Snow White, huh? Honestly, I think she'll nail that role once she's practiced her lines enough times. I do look forward to seeing her costume for the play. =)

Overall, this episode felt more relaxing than normal, but it was still enjoyable. Chinatsu's family circumstances might've move her out of Taiki's family home for a bit, but it's still nice to see the pair interact happily at school together. Same goes for the talk that Kyo had with Hina about the current love triangle, although like with Hina, I'm curious to know more about Kyo's first crush which flashed quickly while he was talking to her.

I'm not surprised that the episode ended with Hina and Chinatsu being alone, which leads to Hina bringing up about her confession to Taiki a little while back. It'll be interesting to see how Chinatsu will respond to her next time. Hopefully there won't be any bad feelings between the two of them.

I thought we were done with losing heroines after Makeine aired last year (and now we are getting a two for one special)? All jokes aside, I am predicting the season finale ends with Taiki confessing to Chinatsu.

Chinatsu imagining what it'd be like being seatmates with Taiki was so fluffy. It'd be a shame if her mom indirectly calling her out and Hina officially throwing down the gauntlet means another shortage of moments like those.

I was ready for Kyo to admit to having feelings for Hina even if subtly but the reveal that he had eyes for another girl intrigued me more than I was expecting. Kinda hope they go more into her at some point even if she isn't plot relevant.

I’m really surprised that people just hate Natsu for no reason. This is so common in the anime community where there's a love triangle; I’ve never seen anyone not like the side character more than the main heroine. Also, the Natsu hate feels super forced—there's no real reason for people to hate her. It’s just because they support Hina. All this full-on hate towards Natsu feels kinda cringe.

The situation is getting more and more intense. Hina already told Taiki that she likes him, but Chii is feeling the same.

Taiki should not let the time pass anymore and confess Chii his feelings. I don’t know why they are postponing that scene so much.

Now that Chinatsu will not live with Taiki anymore for a while, something will probably change.

It would be interesting if Kyou actually likes Hina. At first, it was suspicious that he mentioned in passing, 'But it still hurts.'

Hina asking him about that as well as some close ups in the same episode makes it seem obvious.

Finally knowing the lyrics of the OP and ED hits different.

Chinatsu's mom temporarily moved back to Japan and now Chinatsu will go back to living with her for a month. That sucks. But I'm glad that Taiki and Chinatsu's relationship got better after the last episode. They're much more friendly and honest with each other now. Probably more than they were before.

Hina's gonna play Snow White in Snow White? That's great. Would've been dramatic if Taiki played the prince like Chinatsu thought lol.

Hold up. Does Kyo have feelings for Chinatsu? The fansub made it sound like he was the one who was hurt but even then I was pretty sure it probably meant "It must hurt" so he was probably thinking about Hina. Also, when Kyo was talking to Hina later a picture of another woman showed up. So maybe he doesn't have any strong feelings for Hina (for now). I wouldn't mind seeing Kyo x Hina being a thing but it needs to have the proper development.

So, Chinatsu knew that Hina had feelings for Taiki. But what does she think about about Taiki? Is she aware that he's into her? Or does she still think that Taiki's into Hina? I think a later line implied that she knows the two aren't dating yet but what does she actually think? I really wanna know. But at least something's certain after this episode, Chinatsu definitely has some feelings for Taiki. It sucks that she's not gonna go after him out of consideration for Hina. If she and Taiki were in the same year, I bet she'd be more aggressive. She probably feels some sort of responsibility due to being a year older.

Man, that cliffhanger was crazy. If Chinatsu wasn't sure before she absolutely knows now what Hina thinks of Taiki. I wonder what she's gonna say. I can't wait for the next episode.

what an episode, was worth the wait.
this is really shaping up to be one of my favourite romance animes. probablay the second best, cause oregairu is the GOAT.
Taiki's way of love somehow feels very real and relatable to me for some reason, like when he mentions he wanted to catch a glimpse of Chii at the morning practice.
this is exactly how i feel when i have a crush.
also very much love the fact that it's not your run-of-the-mill female mc dropping unambiguous hints to to the mc-oblivious mc-useless rival girl for love triangle drama kind of romance series.
artstyle is still beautiful, especially Chinatsu's and Hina's facial expressions are drawn really well.
looking forward to next ep now that Hina spilled the beans :O

So, my guess was right that Chinatsu does not think of Taiki as a love interest. I wonder what she thinks of him? This episode is slow and a weird one at that. It seems like this is just to setup the school festival vibe. I enjoyed it but not my favourite when compared to other episodes.

THEY HEARD ME. THEY ARE ACTUALLY GIVING KYOU MORE SCREENTIME. IS THIS SOME KIND OF DREAM?

I know this episode had a lot to unpack, but for me the best thing was the small bit that they started to explore Kyou more. For a moment, I was worried they were hinting that he liked Hina, because I thought that would be kind of lame. But thankfully it's something much more interesting, with Kyou being in love with someone that ended up with another boy, and it seems that he never was able to confess his feelings to her, unlike what Hina did. This explains why he admires Hina so much for doing that. I mean, I think we all admire Hina for being able to do that.

The episode had a lot more interactions between Chinatsu and Taiki, and they are acting normal again, WHICH I LOVE. Having them live in different places for a month is a nice change, and it's nice to see them appreciate those small encounters more!

The episode also had a lot of unspoken tension between Hina and Chinatsu, and then THAT ENDING. HINA JUST HIT CHINATSU WITH THAT. Like, wow... For real, I just hope Hina has a happy ending, she deserves the world. I wonder what Chinatsu will reply to that. It's starting to get clear she is finding the situation to be unfair to Hina, since Chinatsu is getting Taiki for herself, but doesn't really move on to show him that she's interested, and then Hina, that is ready to have a relationship with Taiki, isn't able to do so because of Chinatsu.

Can't wait for the next episode, and I feel like Blue Box is picking the pace up again, after episode 8/9! This second cour, so far, is having an amazing start! Just miss the 1st opening a lot! But this 2nd opening is indeed growing on me, let's see if I end up liking it towards the end of this cour.
